Stairway to a heart

Stairway to a heart

The Roseville Asylum Seeker and Refugee Support Group would love to say thank you to everyone who came along and helped with the Stairway to a Heart Installation. It was a beautiful day allowing us to have many positive conversations with people in Chatswood about their connections to people seeking asylum in Australia. Children drew pictures and some people admitted to putting thinking about asylum seekers as ‘too hard’ and ‘too far away’. The mayor of Willoughby and 2 Councillors attended the day and we were able to ask them to consider employing asylum seekers and refugees within the council. Our groups were also able to connect with many like-minded groups on the north shore and this provides invaluable opportunities for collaboration in the future.

  • A very peaceful and meaningful experience to stand and see the hearts, the drawings, and the prayers. Thank you.
