The Age newspaper yesterday ran a story entitled “six women killed in five days“, highlighting the almost forgotten victims of domestic violence, which affects almost a quarter of a million Australians each year, yet remains a taboo subject in our society and in our Churches.
The South Australian Synod has produced an excellent set of materials entitled “Beyond Violence” – please take the time to have a read, so that we can all play our part in changing the culture of violence that devastates so many lives.
If you, or someone you know, is at risk of or suffering from, domestic violence, help is available. Talk to someone on the ministry team and we will help you to find that help. Or visit DVNSW to find other organisations that can provide you with support.
